The first test operation of the new terminal at Lviv International Airport took place on 26 January. During testing the main stages of passenger movement in the terminal were worked on in compliance with all stages of registration. The Information Centre Ukraine-2012 learnt from the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure. A total of 50 volunteers and representatives of airlines took part in the trial: they passed the entire route ordinary passengers, beginning from the check-in counters, and then the passport and customs control points.
They also visited the waiting room and the arrivals section. All of the "passengers" passed through the required procedures before departure in 40 minutes, that is, an average of 48 seconds per passenger.
The volunteer passengers were very easily directed in the terminal by posted signs, arrows and screens.
It is planned to hold more tests at the new terminal in Lviv Airport with gradual increases in the number of "passengers".
A reminder that on 25 January Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov placed the newly-built terminal at Lviv International Airport into test mode.
