The Ministry of Internal Affairs has presented a guide called “EURO-2012: how to handle the media”, advice from which will be used by law-enforcement officers during organization of the Championship.

As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports, the brochure was developed within the framework of the project “EURO 2012: with an open mind to every guest!”, which is supported by the British Embassy in Ukraine and the Media Reform Centre.

The audience of the project is representatives of press services of those internal affairs bodies, in the territory of which the main sporting events of the European Championship will take place. The purpose of the project is to share experience with participants during training sessions, particularly British experience in the organization of effective interaction between the media and representatives of law-enforcement bodies.

Cooperation with the media can touch a wide range of issues: clarification of legislation, promoting tolerance of guests of the state, counteracting offences, etc.
